💫 Who We Are
“Food Soap?” was born from brokenness — and built with beauty.
I’m Regina — artist, singer, maker, and survivor. A woman who found purpose in one of the most unexpected places: a bar of soap.
After being fired from my job during one of the hardest seasons of my life — a battle with cancer — I spiraled into depression. I felt like I had lost everything: my health, my direction, my spark.
But God wasn’t finished with me yet.
In the quiet of that darkness, I began creating. At first, just to feel again. Then, to heal.
Soapmaking became my therapy, my art, and my worship. Each bar became a prayer, a brushstroke, a praise song for my skin and soul.
And one day, I looked down and realized something:
I wasn’t broken anymore. I was building something.
That something became Food Soap?
Why the question mark behind the name?
Because this brand sparks curiosity — just like healing did for me. People always ask, “Wait, is that soap... or food?” And I love that!
The question mark is your invitation to explore, to be surprised, and to discover that beautiful things sometimes come from the most unexpected places — including our pain.
It’s fun, it’s honest, and it’s me.
I Take “Handmade” a Little Further
Sometimes, handmade begins with the seed.
For me, making a Food Soap? product doesn't always begin with opening a bottle of oil or a bag of ingredients. Whenever practical, I like to go closer to the source — and make or process the ingredient myself.
I cold- and hot-press seeds to produce oils, distill botanicals and essential oils, create herbal infusions and extracts, grind and process botanicals, and make specialty ingredients that eventually find their way into my formulations.
Then comes the formulation itself. I research what each ingredient brings to the product, develop my recipes from scratch, test them, adjust them, and keep experimenting until I'm happy with the way the finished product looks, feels, lathers, absorbs, or performs.
And I don't stop when the product is made. I design the labels, package the products, photograph them, create the displays and marketing, and take Food Soap? out into the world myself.
To me, “handmade” isn't just about who made the finished product. It's about how close I can stay to the process that created it.
From seed to skin — that's handmade a little differently.
So... Why Food Soap?
Because sometimes when someone asks, “What’s in that soap?” my answer sounds more like the beginning of a recipe.
Egg yolks. Bananas. Butter. Cacao. Oats. Herbs. Seeds. Fruits. Plant oils.
Yes — real food ingredients in skincare.
I became fascinated with taking recognizable ingredients — many of the same things we eat, cook with, grow, press, steep and enjoy — and exploring what they could contribute to thoughtfully formulated products for our skin and hair.
That curiosity became Food Soap?
It’s skincare inspired by real ingredients, unexpected combinations, and a whole lot of curiosity.
